Purchase

Thank you for considering an acquisition of my artwork. I currently sell at Toronto art fairs including the Artist Project in April, and with the North Toronto Group of Artists in the Spring and Fall. I accept commission requests and I am also represented by the Petroff Gallery. I have also listed my available pieces here. Please contact me for more information or photos for any piece that you may be interested in. I offer free pick-up in North York or can get a quote for shipping quite quickly.

Available Works

These pieces are core to my Migration Collection. They are protected in acrylic cases and each one has its own story and special meaning.

Due to popular demand, I have created a series of small pieces using the same beautiful Chiyogami paper I usually use. Each one is composed of hand folded origami and framed in a gallery wood panel. (note no acrylic case)

Preservation

I take great care to ensure I am creating artwork that will stand the test of time. I start with Chiyogami paper from Japan that is silkscreened by hand. The vibrant colours are not from a dye or print but a thick application of ink that I can feel over the paper. Its resistance to fading is akin to paint. The paper itself is made from a high quality kozo (mulberry) fibre and I treat every single sheet with an alkali solution to neutralize any residual acid in the paper. I learned this technique from archive libraries.

Folded Paper on Wood Panel in Acrylic Case

I work on art-grade wood panels primed with scuff-resistant acrylic and adhere the origami pieces with a pH neutral glue. The piece is sealed with a few layers of UV-varnish and the entire piece is boxed in an acrylic case.

Commissions

I do accept commission requests and sometimes it is a variation on a piece I just made. Other times, something entirely new is inspired by a story from a client. It all starts with a consultation and I usually ask about desired size, style or story and colour preferences. I prepare a proposal with sketches for approval before moving ahead.
